Thinking about selling off your loyal but rusty used car for a brand spanking new kerb crawler? Well according to 58 senior motoring journalists from all over the world you could do worse than the Volkswagen Polo.
The World Car of The Year (WCOTY) awards have been held (not sure where, but that doesn’t matter) and Polo was voted the best car you could buy now, in 2010. The judges agreed that the Polo was a solidly built piece of engineering, well equipped and keenly priced. Also in the running for the accolade were the Mercedes-Benz E-class and the Toyota Prius who both came 2nd. The other cars that made the 10-short list were: the Audi Q5, BMW X1, Chevrolet Cruze, Kia Soul, Mazda3, Vauxhall Insignia and Porsche Panamera.
It's probably a good thing we weren't asked, because the Batmobile may look a little out of place on that list.
