Santander Cycles

Santander Cycles are one of your best options for biking around London. The service is both cheap and convenient. You can hire a bike for as little as £2 and you don’t need to have any change on you as the touch screen found at the bike docking stations allows you to pay with a credit or debit card. There’s no need to book and you can hire the bike from one docking station and return it to another. Head to tfl.gov.uk on your smartphone to find your nearest docking station.

On Your Bike

The folks at On Your Bike are another group you should consider hiring from. You can choose the type of bike and the rental period you require ahead of time and book the hire through onyourbike.com. You can get a standard but very solid bike for as little as £10 a day. If you want something like a hybrid or even an electric bike, you’ll need to pay a premium. As you’d expect from any rental service, the longer you hire the bike for the cheaper it is per day so if you’ll be in the capital for 7 days, you’ll get the best deal.

London Bicycle

The third firm we’d recommend is London Bicycle. Their site londonbicycle.com shows the range of bikes they have on offer, and you can also review their price range. You can hire a bike from as little as £3.50 an hour, ideal if you’re not going to be in London for the whole day. You can book your bike online and then pick it up from their hire centre on the Southbank of the River Thames between Waterloo Bridge and Blackfriars Bridge.
