Cadillac Announces Pricing of New CTS-V Supersaloon
Cadillac will be selling its new CTS-V Supersaloon in the UK next month. Hyped as the most powerful Cadillac ever, the new luxury car will be priced from £56,495.
The CTS-V has a supercharged 6.2 litre V8 engine that can rocket the car to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 191 mph (175 mph for automatic transmission).
Director in charge of Cadillac UK, Jonathan Nash claims, “The CTS-V represents the extreme extension of Cadillac’s current design language and its performance technology capabilities. The V-Series developments take the highly accomplished CTS launched last summer and elevate it to a position within the club of the world’s high-performance supersaloons.”
Complementing the extraordinary powerplant is the state-of-the-art, fast-reacting suspension technology, Magnetic Ride Control (MRC), which uses shock absorbers controlled by electro-magnets instead of mechanical valves, for shorter response time to road conditions. The CTS-V is also rigged with Brembo brakes; powerful six-piston calipers gripping enormous 380 mm discs at the front, and four-piston calipers on 373 mm discs at the rear.
Geared up with these engineering marvels, along with four-channel ABS, hydraulic brake assist and dynamic rear brake proportioning, the Cadillac CTS-V has the best performance among its peers and even within its model range in history.
Cadillac has gone all out with the left-hand drive CTS-V, including driver and passenger comfort—new, 14-way adjustable Recaro performance driving seats, high quality ‘hand- cut-and-sewn’ double stitched leather and sueded material, and a unique high-gloss Obsidian surface finish inside the vehicle.
More features include a voice activated entertainment console featuring iPod integration, 40 GB hard drive and an advanced hard-disk navigation system.
Despite the current market slump, the Cadillac CTS-Vis a steal compared to similar prestige saloons; a complete package of luxury and high performance rarely seen in American vehicles.
