The best classic car shows for winter 2014 in the UK
Classic car shows in 2014 in the UK are normally reserved for the summer months when the historic machines can be shown off in the sunlight, but there are a few shows that go on during the winter months. Whether you like classic, sports, vintage and veteran machinery, you'll be able to enjoy historic motoring long before the summer arrives.
If you're a VW owner, one of the best shows is DubFreeze. This is one of the earliest classic car shows for 2014 in the UK as it takes place in February. It's being run in the midlands, in Stafford so it's pretty accessible for the majority of English motorists. Last year, 70 VWs were on display, some of which were sold to visitors in the 'vehicles for sale' area.
There isn't motor racing venue in the country that's more historic than Brooklands. Not even Silverstone can match its history so this is the perfect spot for a gathering of classic machinery and enthusiasts. Brooklands Museum plays host to the Brooklands Winter Classic Breakfast in Feb, which is a chance to eat in the Sunbeam Cafe and meet like-minded classic car enthusiasts.
Jaguar track day
The Jaguar Enthusiasts Club is organising a track day at Brands Hatch for their members on February 28. This will be a great opportunity to put your Jag through its paces or to enjoy the sights and sounds as Jaguar car owners get together to celebrate the marque.
March sees the return of the HSCC Donington event. The East Midlands racetrack will host a collection of classics from a variety of marques.
Silverstone Classic and Goodwood
If you can wait until the summer, then the 2014 Silverstone Classic over the long weekend in July and the Goodwood Festival of Speed in late June are the two biggest Classic car shows for 2014 in the UK. If you haven't been to them or if it's been a while since you went, you should get your tickets for 2014 now.
