If you do like most people in the UK rev up the car for your daily commute only to be stuck in traffic for 80% of the journey you’ll be surprised to hear there were 220,000 less cars on UK roads on 2009 compared to the year before.
The stat brought to us by Society of Motoring Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) said the decline was in part due to the recessions (really?) and the government's recent cash for bangers scheme (really?). They also said that it was the first time since World War II that cars on the road had decreased.
But before you go trailblazing around the streets thinking the roads are yours and only yours there are still an environment busting 31.04 million cars stopping you from getting you to your desired destination on time.
