Dubai police cars fleet of exotic machines revealed
When you're keeping order on roads filled with Lamborghinis, Porsches and Ferraris you can't expect to catch up with the criminals if you're only driving something from Ford or Toyota, so you won't be surprised to read that the Dubai police cars fleet comprises some of the world's most glamorous exotic cars.Dubai police
There are currently 15,000 police officers in the Emirate who look after over 2million citizens. This is a police force famous for their extravagance so their green and white colours can be spotted on European exotica like the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, Ferrari FF, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, Bentley Continental GT and a limited edition Aston Martin One-77. General duties though are carried out by less exotic machinery.
Before we look at the super cars and hyper cars that the police have access to we should note that the majority of miles covered by those paid to protect and serve in Dubai are carried out by cars like the Chevrolet Camaro. The fifth generation machine used by the Dubai police may not cost Lambo money but it's no slough with a top speed of 184 mph.
According to the police's fleet director, the super cars are used to promote the image of Dubai rather than to track down suspects so they're parked in tourist hot spots rather than down back alleys waiting for a criminal or two to appear. So if you're in Dubai and you see a Bugatti Veyron, a McLaren 12C or an Audi R8 in the police's colours, the guy behind the wheel will be just as relaxed showing off one of the police's hottest rides as you will be while you enjoy your holiday.
