Dubai police to add a Ferrari to their patrol fleet after the Lamborghini Aventador
Less than a week after the Dubai police announced that they had bought the luxurious Lamborghini Aventador to add to their patrol fleet, they have now announced that they will be adding still another very expensive Italian sports car to their fleet, a Ferrari.
Both announcements were made via the police’s Twitter feed, however no mention was made of which Ferrari model they had acquired to patrol the streets, while many believe it will be the stunning 458 Italia.
The cars will not be just off the line or off the show room vehicles with the Dubai’s typical police green and white paint job and the addition of standard police car equipment, as police spokesman said of the Lamborghini, “The car is specially modified in terms of power, speed and resilience. Its body and chassis are specially modified as well,” but the sports car still remains a two-door, two-seater, so in our opinion no criminal or lowlife will be carted off to prison in the powerful Italian machine.
Lt. Gen. Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Dubai's police chief, said the luxury sports cars are meant to reflect the city's affluent reputation, but he also said, "These sports cars will not be roaring and chasing speeding motorists. They will be used for roads security in different areas of Dubai."
The police chief also added that Dubai is a unique city and everything in it should reflect its uniqueness and that’s why the police force have decide to add a Ferrari sports car to its patrol fleet and "Dubai is a cosmopolitan city and its police cars should reflect that.”
Deputy police director General Khamis Matter al-Muzaina said that the cars will be mostly dispatched to tourist areas to show "how classy Dubai is".
Dubai Police’s fleet also currently includes a Toyota Land Cruiser, a Kia Mohave, a Nissan Xterra and also a Chevrolet Camaro SS .
