Formula One Calender for 2011: Get The Details

F1 season of 2011 is the 62nd season of FIA Formula One. The original Formula One calender for 2011 had 20 rounds including the inaugural round. Pirelli is back in the race as a tyre supplier replacing Bridgestone. The ruling team is the Red Bull Racing Team and the reigning driver is Sebastian Vettel. The season started on March 27th and will end on November, 27th.

Formula 1: Races

European F1 season consists of 8 races. This is the proposed calender:

  • Turkish GP (Tuzla): 8th of May
  • Spanish GP (Catalunya, Barcelona): 22nd of May
  • European GP (Valencia): 26th of June
  • British GP (Silverstone): 10th of July
  • German GP (Nurburgring, Nurburg): 24th of July
  • Hungarian GP (Hungaroring, Budapest): 31st of July
  • Belgian GP (Spa): 28th of August
  • Italian GP (Monza): 11th of September

Formula 1 Teams

There are 12 teams participating in the races. The teams have a car constructor behind which may or may not be the same as the car engine. The main teams and car engines are:

  • Red Bull Racing , Lotus Renault GP, Team Lotus (Renault RS-27-2011)
  • Vodafone McLaren Mercedes, Mercedes GP Petronas F1 Team, Force India F1 Team (Mercedes FO-108Y)
  • Scuderia Ferrari, Sauber F1 Team, Scuderia Toro Rosso (Ferrari 056)
  • AtWilliams, HRT Formula One Team, Marussia Virgin Racing (Cosworth CA 2011-07-23)

Drivers on the Course

F1 drivers for the Red Bull Team, S. Vettel and M. Weber are competing. For the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Team the drivers are L. Hamilton and J. Button. F. Alonso and F. Massa are competing for Scuderia Ferrari. M. Schumacher races for Mercedes Petronas and N. Heidfeld for Lotus Renault. Barichello drives a Cosworth for Williams and Kobayashi drives a Ferrari for the Sauber Team. Kovalainen races for the American Team Lotus.
