Hamilton wins German Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton earned his second win of the season in the German Grand Prix at Nurburgring.

The Brit has now moved into third in the championship, as he followed up on the good form he showed in qualifying, bagging second place next to Mark Webber on the front row. Leap-frogging Webber on the first corner, Hamilton lost the lead before tustling with Fernando Alonso and Mark Webber to regain it.

Some aggressive driving and daring manoevres saw him out fox both to claim his 16th career victory. Sebastian Vettel's lead has been 77 points after he could only manage fourth place.

Celebrating on the team radio Hamilton said: 'Great job guys, great job. Keep pushing, these are the results we can get, it's amazing.'

BBC F1 co-commentator David Coulthard was full of praise for the 2008 champion. 'Hamilton is incredible,' he said. 'He's in permanent attack mode and there's no love lost between him and Alonso either.'
