Best hypercars of 2018

We’re not expecting many readers to see this as a shopping list for their next car. For most of us, this is a wish list for that time when the lotto numbers come in. Window shopping is all right when you’re casting your eyes on cars like these. We’re not going to bring you supercars. They’re pretty ordinary nowadays. We’re talking about hypercars, so we’re only considering vehicles with at least 600bhp, a 200mph or more top speed and a price tag of at least £1 million.

McLaren Senna

Let’s start with something home-grown then – the McLaren Senna. You don’t need us to tell you that this hypercar is named after the three-time F1 champion who won all his titles for McLaren but you’ll need to know some of the details that make this car special. The game plan was to create the “ultimate McLaren track-concentrated car for the road” as the British carmaker boasts in their literature, and they’ve achieved that in spades.

You can see from this pic, that was taken when McLaren road tested the car, that this car is all about performance. The flowing lines of the P1 are replaced by bodywork designed to provide downforce or reduce drag. There’s plenty of power too thanks to the 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 that kicks out 789bhp and 590lb ft. Anyone lucky enough to drive this hypercar will have 688PS-per-tonne on tap.

Ferrari FXX-K Evo

This is the Ferrari FXX-K Evo, a £2million Ferrari that will be built in extremely low numbers in 2018. Aero tweaks to this Evo model now mean that it will reach 217mph however you can’t do that on the road. Ferrari will only allow this car to be used on the track where the 6.3-litre V12 that will get you from 0-60mph in 2.7 seconds can be fully explored. Although it’ll only be made in extremely low numbers, anyone with a standard FXX-K can get the upgrade pack.

Bugatti Chiron

We couldn’t go without seeing what Bugatti has on offer for 2018. This 216mph machine is the Bugatti Chiron. Drivers of this car will have a mouthwatering 1,479bhp to play with thanks to an 8-litre W16 engine with quad-turbochargers. We’re not sure that Bugatti has made any alterations to the car for 2018 but they don’t need to when the original has so much power and performance.
