Japan to save the world?

With the news that petrol prices in the UK are once again set to increase when the new budget is announced on the 1st of April, the lukewarm idea of the electric car is starting to warm up.

So far many of the big-gun car manufactures have churned out a couple of alternatives to petrol guzzlers with no real affect on the everyday motorist. However Japan have pledged to have a proper crack at the potential lucrative and planet saving market after Toyota, Nissan and Mitsubishi say they are teaming up with Tokyo Electric Power Power Company to form CHAdeMO – a council to help take the electric car forward.

From past success stories such as the Toyota Prius (excuse the recall nonsense) whenever Japan takes charge of the car industry the rest of the world forms a convoy and falls into step behind them.
