McLaren to Button it

It's a funny thing, but why do so many F1 drivers want to drive for Ferrari when the truth is that since the glory days of Michael Schumacher their cars are not as competitive as you'd expect?

Well anyway, turns out McLaren have offered Brit driver Jenson Button a pay-rise to make sure Ferrari don't get their clutches on their man and turn him into a has-been.

Button, 31, confirmed last week that the Woking based racers have an option on him for next season, but is said to be reluctant to commit to a long-term deal.

The news of Ferrari's interest came when a Ferrari source told the News of the World that Ferrari had checked Button's availability with his management, viewing him as a perfect replacement for on the wane star Felipe Massa.
