Monster iMotion CarPlay 3000 review

If you can forgive the fancy name that sounds like the title of a 1970s sci-fi horror movie, you’ll probably find the Monster iMotion CarPlay 3000 pretty useful. A decent Monster iMotion CarPlay 3000 review will tell you that it’s been designed to connect your iPad, iPod and iPhone to your car’s auxiliary port while at the same time charging through a 12-volt port, but it might not mention its other features.

Control playback

A decent Monster iMotion CarPlay 3000 review will also tell you that lots of devices on the market do the same thing but the difference with the iMotion is that it allows you to control playback through the wave of a hand. With the iMotion set up, you can change tracks on your iPod with a left to right gesture. A smooth movement backwards allows you to skip a track and all the other functions you’d expect to find are just as simple and intuitive. The motion detector is very competent so you won’t get frustrated with it and it makes accessing 80GB of music on an iPod possible at most speeds.

Nothing is perfect, so there are a few drawbacks with the iMotion CarPlay 3000. The biggest issue we found wasn't with the device but the environment it's being used in. Cars with centrally mounted auxiliary and charge points are the best ones to use it in, and for the device to work, you need the ports to be close together. Of course, the fault here doesn’t lie with the device, this is just a by-product of any device designed for use with multiple cars but it’s something that has to be looked into before you part with your cash.

The device is also very sensitive so you might find that changing gears also changes a track on your iPod. The iMotion has a tendency to pick up on every motion so the device’s mounting point in the car could determine whether it’s going to be useful or annoying.

Final word

This is a cool device and something that has to be recommended no matter what negativity you might find in a Monster iMotion CarPlay 3000 review. If you do a lot of miles and keeping your eyes on the road is important, this could be a great little gadget for you.
