Thinking of buying a Skoda car?

The name Skoda had long been something of a joke in the automobile industry. The company seemed to churn out functional, but relatively ugly cars that looked distinctly eastern European. Nowadays, things are completely different, Skoda cars are some of the most desirable on the market, and some of the biggest sellers in the UK.

The reason for the shift in the fortunes of Skoda is thanks to the company being taken over by the Volkswagen Group, lending their expertise to a complete overhaul of the brand, that has seen them become an auto giant.

Skoda has a wide range of quality cars available in the UK. Let's take a look at the range. Available at the moment is the Skoda Octavia, the Skoda Roomster, the Skoda Fabia II, the Skoda Superb II, and the Skoda Yeti.

Skoda Roomster - A five door multi-purpose vehicle pitched at families. It has been on the market since 2006. It is classed as a mini MPV. It appeared on Top Gear and was given the thumbs up by Jeremy Clarkson.

Skoda Superb - This five door car is Skoda's flagship motor and is the largest and most luxurious car produced by the company. It shares a lot of its infrastructure with the Volkswagen Passat.

Skoda Octavia - A small family car that has been in production since 1996. It is based on the Volkswagen Golf, sharing a lot of the same features, but at a much lower price.

Skoda Fabia - This super-mini has been produced since 1999 and is available in hatchback, estate and saloon body style. It is based on the Volkswagen Polo.

Skoda Yeti - This five door mini-SUV is for the sports enthusiasts and is the company's first SUV effort.
