The new SsangYong Korando crossover has reached British shores and is due to go on sale here next month
Its manufacturer has hailed the car for having the practicality of a 4x4/SUV and accessibility of a hatchback. The Korando will face stiff competition from the Ford Kuga, Hyundai ix35, Kia Sportage, Nissan Qashqai and Volkswagen Tiguan.
The Korando joins SsangYong’s the current model line-up, which includes the Kyron (£14,995 - £22,495), Rexton (£16,995 - £20,995) and Rodius (£14,995 - £19,995). The new car is expected to have a pricetag of something within the same range. Not cheap.
However, SsangYong clearly feel it’s worth the extra pennies. A statement from the company reads:
‘This brand new 175PS diesel engine makes Korando one of the most powerful in its class. A comprehensive five-year or 250,000 mile warranty, excellent fuel economy and low running costs will also set a new benchmark of affordability in the rapidly growing compact crossover segment.’
