In a market where safety comes first - Toyota’s recent recall of various models of their cars has been an unmitigated disaster for the company. Amid fears of poor safety with acceleration, steering and breaking the car giant publicly apologised for the manufacturing error. But since then some complaints have come to light, that a few drivers who have had their used cars ‘fixed’ are still having problems.
More than ten Toyota drivers in America have complained that their recently MOT'd car has an acceleration problem with one complainer saying the car sped up ‘twice’ without him pushing the pedal. Another person who issued a complaint said the brakes ‘didn’t engage’ when he wanted them to.
At the news a spokesperson for Toyota said; ‘We would like to examine these vehicles and repairs and talk to the consumers’. Despite all these problems Toyota claim its cars remain the safest in the world.
